BioDtex UV scanner
Identify risks early on and detect contamination instantly
Identifying organic and inorganic contaminants is a constant challenge in many industrial sectors, posing an often underestimated risk in areas where hygiene is critical. These contaminants can develop unnoticed and are difficult to detect, potentially leading to serious quality issues.
The BioDtex UV handheld scanner quickly and easily reveals these hidden weak points across a large area in real time. Inorganic and organic contaminants appear in different fluorescent colours. This optimises cleaning validation and contamination inspection.
Detecting contamination and bacterial pathogens
The BioDtex can detect dangerous pathogens, such as Listeria, E. coli, Salmonella, Cronobacter and Bacillus cereus, on the most common surfaces, including work surfaces, aseptic lines, tanks, barrels and containers. Sampling probes, samplers and tools (e.g. knives) can also be tested to help maintain high hygiene standards. An image of the measurement results can be saved on the device for documentation purposes.
Reduces laboratory testing & complements the HACCP concept
When it comes to biological contamination, this handy scanner offers a twofold advantage.
It significantly reduces the number of expensive, time-consuming laboratory tests (e.g. TOC and ATP swabs) used to detect contamination by ensuring that only UV-clean surfaces are tested for final clearance.
It can also be used to take a targeted sample from a biologically contaminated surface for origin analysis via microbiological cultivation. This can help to identify the source of the contamination as part of a root cause analysis.
The perfect complement to the HACCP approach
Traditional HACCP methods often struggle with biofilms, which are invisible and difficult to detect. BioDtex is specifically designed to complement HACCP systems. It:
- highlights critical weak points;
- ensures cleaning processes can be verified;
- improves the reliability of control points.
This allows significant gaps in hygiene management to be closed without altering existing processes.
Advantages
- On-site analysis
- Compact and portable
