XL3 hybrid

Ultimate detection limits at Mg, Al, Si, P, S, Cl

Mobile X-ray fluorescence spectrometer XL3 hybrid

The XL3 hybrid – just like the XL3 plus – can analyze the light elements Mg, Al, Si, P, S, Cl under air. However, it can optionally be switched to helium operation. This results in a significant reduction in the detection limits.

Analysis with the XL3 hybrid provides the following advantages

  • The performance can be further increased by switching on the helium purge.
  • Detection limits for light elements are achieved that were previously more accessible to spark spectrometers.
  • The air in the measuring head is displaced by helium gas.
  • In contrast to a vacuum, there is hardly any pressure on the foil.

Areas of application

The XL3 hybrid analyser achieves with helium flush the lowest detection limits for Mg, Al, Si, P, S. It is the perfect instrument for very low tolerance levels or detection limits, which require an improved accuracy, e.g.:

  • Distinction between pure aluminium and Al Mg.
  • Phosphorus in bronze.
