Near Infrared Spectrometer microNIR PAT-W for Process Analysis

MicroNIR PAT-W

Wireless process spectrometer for installation on rotating mixer

W-LAN capable NIR process spectrometer microNIR PAT-W with attachments

The MicroNIR PAT-W is the wireless model of the proven MicroNIR PAT spectrometer series. Due to the integrated PC, exchangeable battery and WiFi connectivity, it can be mounted completely without cables. Thus, it can also be mounted on rotating elements e.g. directly in the mixer lid. Automated measurement triggering via position sensor ensures reliable data collection for blend monitoring. "Air spectra" are a thing of the past. The MicroNIR PAT-W is particularly robust as it has no moving parts inside.

Advantages

  • Real-time response monitoring.
  • Completely wireless installation.
  • Robust process probe with IP protection class 67.
  • Proven linear variable filter technology with no moving parts inside.
  • Maintenance-free system with long-life tungsten lamps.
  • Including MicroNIR PRO software for model generation (PLS, PCA, MBSD, SMV) and control of the spectrometer.
  • Moving block modeling for blend monitoring without quantitative reference values.
  • GMP compliant (USP<1119>, EP2.2.40, 21CFRp11) validation documents.
  • Also available as ATEX version for safe use in EX zone 2 (22).

Areas of application

  • Blend Uniformity / Homogeneity
  • Drying and granulation processes
  • Tabletting
  • Classical chemical reaction monitoring

What makes the PAT-W so unique?

The wireless installation in the blender lid and the position sensor for automatic measurement triggering are just as exceptional as the modeling without quantitative reference analytics for blend monitoring and the robust design without fiber optics and moving parts. Together with the already included software for model building, the spectrometer is also quite cost-effective. The weld-in kit for blend covers is available as an accessory and facilitates installation.

How does the MicroNIR PAT-W work?

The analysis technique is already in the name: Near Infrared or NIR spectroscopy. This established laboratory method has been adapted here for a compact sensor: Energy is radiated in the form of light onto the analyte (solid, liquid) to be analyzed. This light is somewhat lower in energy than the visible range of sunlight and excites the molecules to vibrate. The radiation reflected by the analyte is analyzed. It allows conclusions to be drawn about the structural composition, since some of the incoming radiation is absorbed in a molecule-specific manner. Further information on NIR spectroscopy.

Feasibility studies & chemometric support

Process analysical technologies benefit those who use a first-class spectrometer and create reliable chemometric models.
We provide support in evaluating the feasibility of analytical issues, e.g. with trial measurements in our laboratory or at the customer's site.

For more detailed studies or complete chemometric modeling, we work with partners who are absolute experts in this field, e.g. S-PACT from Aachen or LabCognition from Cologne.

In this way, customers receive a complete package to get off to a successful start in PAT.
